Wee! Nothing says "fun for the kids" quite like the image of a gigantic diaper-wearing half-wit firing a shotgun at his father's terrified face. Hard to imagine this sort of thing flying today in a kid's comic (and you certainly wouldn't see this in a modern animated cartoon) which is kind of funny, really. If there was one thing that most comic book fans could agree on when I was growing up it was that the Comics Code Authority represented the cold, hard hand of creative repression and wrong-headed self-censorship. Still, the stuffed shirts at the Comics Code gave the above panel -- from Harvey Hits #35 (August 1960) -- a thumbs up. Wacky.
